Volunteer Information
As a non-profit organization, we understand the need to depend on volunteers like you to keep our organization successful.  There are many organizations within the Levelland Community with great opportunities!  This volunteer website has accomplished a goal to create a place where community members can find those opportunities and connect with the organizations that need your help.  We are not asking you to volunteer for EVERYTHING, we want you to choose the place that fits your needs, skills, talents, and/or schedule.  

Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America offers an exciting and engaging program for Boys ages 7-18 and girls ages 14-18.  Our outdoor program helps build good character in youth, while teaching them the importance of good citizenship, the Scout Oath, and Scout Laws.

Hockey County Endowment

The Levelland Area Endowment Foundation is a non-profit organization that currently has endowed funds in excess of $500,000 which garner earnings that we are able to give out in the form of grants each year to our Hockley County Non-Profits.  We give away various amounts from $300 to $2500 and more depending on need and fund availability.

Hockley County Senior Citizens Center
More than 18% of our states elderly populations faces the threat of hunger.  Our goal at Hockley county Senior Citizens is to feed as many needy citizens of our city, and parts of our county as possible with the funding we have plus private donations.  The main purpose of our Meals on Wheels is to fill the heart and stomachs of people who most need it, and provide them with the opportunity to live in happy, healthy environments IN their own homes.

South Plain Community Action Association, Inc. - Head Start

The agency's mission is "helping people, changing lives."  In the Head Start program we help children and parents and change their lives to foster school success.  We have 2 locations in Levelland: Levelland ABC and Levelland Building Blocks.  Additional sites in Hockley county include Smyer ISD and Ropes ISD.  Services are center based; with classes following the local ISD schedule.  We need volunteers to read and do learning activities with children; including outdoor play.  To help with clerical and nutrition duties or facility maintenance (not janitorial).

The Wallace Theater is undergoing renovations to become a cinema and live performance venue in downtown Levelland.  The Theater is a non-profit organization that currently hosts concerts, art shows and other entertainment events for the community.  The mission of the theater is: “To provide a cultural experience while preserving, enriching and creating the history of Levelland and Hockley County as we entertain, inspire and positively impact growth and pride in our community.”
