“Preparing for the Future; Preserving the Past”
It is time once again for the 49th Annual Hockley County Early Settler’s Day Celebration. This year’s theme is, “Preparing for the Future; Preserving the Past”. This event will be on July 10, 2010. Whether you choose to build a float, or ride the tractor we welcome your participation!

Entries to the parade will be announced live on local radio the day of the event and judged for awards. On the day of the parade you need to pick up your numbered posters in front of the Chamber of Commerce office. In order for judging and announcement of your entry, affix the numbered poster to your entry as instructed. All entries turned in after July 8th will not be judged and all entries turned in after 9:00 am on Saturday the 10th will not be announced.

Lineup for the parade will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday July 10, 2010 in front of the Chamber of Commerce Office at 1101 Avenue H. All must be in place by 9:15 am. The parade will begin at 9:30 am and will end after the parade passes through downtown. The parade begins at the Chamber office traveling north on Avenue H. It will turn east on Houston Street. The parade will disband in the parking lot of First Baptist Church at Avenue C.
