The City of Levelland continues to deal with and address the many challenges associated with the recent snow storm. Republic Services, the City’s garbage service provider, has been unable to mobilize and collect garbage in Levelland due to the conditions of the roadways and alleyways. Accordingly, the City does not expect mobilization from Republic Services for several more days under current conditions.
In an effort to provide some relief with garbage collection delays, the City of Levelland will be accepting household bagged trash at the Levelland Transfer Station located at 902 A&M Lane. “It is important for the household garbage to be bagged and sealed in garbage bags in order to stay in compliance with State regulations and prevent any loose trash from escaping when hauling,” said City Manager Rick Osburn.
The Levelland Transfer Station will be open on Saturday January 2nd from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will only be accepting household trash that is properly bagged and sealed. In addition, the Levelland Recycling Center will also be open.
The Levelland Landfill remains closed until further notice. Thank you for your understanding as the City continues to respond and work though a historical snow storm.
